Mahuldah Ellis
Mahuldah Ellis, third child and eldest daughter of James Ellis and Sarah Riggs. She was born circa 1786 at that part of Greene now Hamblen County, Tennesse. On May 31, 1800 at Jefferson County, Tennessee, Mahuldah married John Neece, who died circa March 1837 possably at Booneville, Lincoln County, Tennessee. They had fourteen known children, many who married and relocated to greater Lawrence County, Missouri. She died as the widow Neece in November 1861 at Lawrence County, Missouri.[1]

- 1840 - Hulda Neese is listed as a head of household, Lincoln County. There are 4 other people in the household, presumable her children. [2]
- 1850-Huldah is listed with son Barksdale Neece, single, in Lincoln County , Tennessee.[3]
- 1860-Head is Barksdale Neece with spouse and children, she is listed as member of household.[4]

- September 17, 1817 will of father James Ellis names her.[9]
Huldah Ellis, widow Neece, died Nov., 1861, Lawrence County, Missouri.[10] She is buried in Buck Prairie Cemetery, Marionville, Lawrence County, Missouri.[11]
Inscription: 75 years
That her apparent homemade gravestone still exists is a miracle.[12]
On May 31, 1800 at Jefferson County, TN, Mahuldah married John Neece, who died circa March 1837 possibly at Booneville, Lincoln County, Tennessee. They had fourteen known children, many who married and relocated to greater Lawrence County, Missouri.[13]
