There is controversy on Mary Ann's birthdate and birthplace. They may have been 26 Jan 1908 in Prospect, Craighead, AK^[4][5]. However, the most reliable primary source, a Delayed Birth Certificate submitted on 2 Nov 1956 by her sister Mattie Cooper, states Mary Ann was born on 9 Jan 1908 in Jonesboro, Craighead, AK^[1]. Both sources conflict with the FInd-a-Grave birthdate of 9 Jun 1907^[6].
