Biography

Dinah was born about 1674.

Research Notes

Robert (Brinsdon) Bronsdon (1639-1701) was added as father with no sources. Sources for that family do not list a child named Dinah and Brimsdell has not been listed as alternate spelling., so he will be unlinked.

Robert (Brinsdon) Bronsdon (1639-1701) had a child Joseph from his 1st wife, who 'may' have married Desire / Dinah Brinsdell of Lynn, leaving her a widow in 1697. [1] Possibly that is where the confusion with Robert Brinsdon was that caused him to be linked as father, when he might have been father-in-law.

Birth: 1674 Alternative names: Diana or Desire Brimsdell Dinah Brimsdill

Marriage: ABT 1701

Research Notes

Bathsheba Richards (-bef.1700) was added as mother with no sources.

That seems to be a duplication of Bathsheba (Richards) Brinsdon (1647-1678) who was married to Robert (Brinsdon) Bronsdon (1639-1701)

Sources for that family do not list a child named Dinah and Brimsdell has not been listed as alternate spelling, so she should probably be unlinked.

Robert (Brinsdon) Bronsdon (1639-1701) had a child Joseph from his 1st wife, Bathsheba, who 'may' have married Desire / Dinah Brinsdell of Lynn, leaving her a widow in 1697.[2] Possibly that is where the confusion with Robert Brinsdon and Bathsheba Richards that has caused the incorrect parents.

Dinah Brimsdell is my 7th GGrandmother, this is from the Dunnel according to the True Genealogy of the Dunnel and Dwinell Families, by Henry Gale Dunnel MD of New York City. The marriage was 15 February 1667 in Lynn, Essex Massachusetts. She married Thomas Dunnel/Dwinell. the problem is that Dunnel/Dwinell/Dwinel and Doenel are interchangeable and that of course gives us fits trying to trace the genealogy. I have to admit that after 30 + years of chasing this line it is somewhat difficult because of misspellings of the names. Dinah Brimsdell is the daughter of Robert Brinsdon according to the information in Lynn, Massachusetts, records which were copied from handwritten records. The next record is found on Geneanet and it shows the Robert Bronsdon/Brimsden/Brimsdell. This family tree shows that he had a daughter Dinah Brimsdell, then a son Benjamin Bronsdon, then a daughter Rebeckah Bronson. It is difficult because there are all different spelling in many of these old records. I do have a marriage record Robert Brinsdon and Bathsheba Richards in 1667 in Lynn MA. Just above that is Brimsdill, Dinah and Thomas Dwonill of Topsfield May 23, 1701. This should be enough confusion for one post. Hope this will prove helpful in some way.
What source is being used for the parent of this profile? There is a Bathsheba that married Robert Bronsdon. Sources with that family do not have a child named Dinah.

Bronsdon and Box shows Robert married twice. Bathsheba died after last child born in 1672

Brimsdell-2 and Brimsdell-1 appear to represent the same person because: Same person based on relationships to husband and son. Earlier profile is unsourced.
