July 19th 1819[4], Deed of Gift was ordered to be recorded for 20 a. to Thomas Welch and "Marian" from John Welch, George Welch, Mark Whitacre, Isaac Welch, Archibald Welch, James Welch, Marianne Welch, and Margaret Welch. it was proven in open court by Polly Bohannon, "one of the Subscribing witnesses thereto for the purposes and things mentioned". What the "purpose and things" were ramains a mystery, since the deed is missing from the records.

Lucy Davis Welch wife of Archibald Welch is said to have passed away around 1830[7], likewise the 1830 U.S. Census is clear that Archibald had 5 female children in his household, where the 1820 U.S. census lists two females where one is around the same age as Archibald and is believed to be his wife, Mary Lucinda Davis[8]known as Lucy Davis Welch.

This record opens up a few questions such as who is the 30-40 year old unknown male in the houseold? Is the 5-10 year old unknown male a son of Archibald? or the 30-40 year old unknown male? where are and what happened to the unknown females from 1830 census?
August 1st 1850[11], Archibald Welch, farmer, aged 52 is found in District 2, White county, Tennessee, United States others listed in the household are; Stacy(40), Lucinda(15), Jasper(13), George(12), Morgan(10), Mahala(6), Susan(4), and Maragaret (0 or 2/12).
Morgan is believed to be Jon Marion Welch (1840 - 1917[12]), W. C. Welch lists Archibald as his father, but left mother unknown. Also list his birthyear as 1843.
Lucy Stacey McFadden is stated to have passed away circa 1853, as evidenced by the remarriage of Archibald Welch to Rebecca Sluder.
Archibald and Stacey Welch had the following children;

There are no known children from the union of Archibald Welch and Rebecca Sluder.
June 11th 1860[17], A Welch, farmer, aged 62, is found in District 2, White county, Tennessee, United States, listed in the household are Rebecca(48), Mahaley(15), Sylvania(14), Susan(12), Emeline(11), and Margaret(10).
Sylvania and Emeline are not in the 1850 census with Archibald, they are not Archibalds children, but those of Mark W. and Rebecca Sluder[18] of Bledsoe county, Tennessee, United States. Rebecca Sluders maiden name is said to be Mcafee.
June 28th 1870[19], Archaba Welch, farmer, aged 72 is found in Civil District 2, White county, Tennessee, United States, in the household are Rebecca(58), John M(27), and Annie(4).
John M is believed to his son Morgan from the 1850 U.S. Census. Annie could be Archibalds granddaughter from John M, or his son Jasper who is living near by.
Archibald Welch married three times and had twelve children from two of his marriages. Only eight of those children have been identified.

Children, Sylvania Welch' and Emeline Welch are not mention in the 1850 census so they may be his children but maybe Rebecca's
on his Find a Grave Memorial it has Lucy Davis Welch as his wife, so unsure if Mary and Lucy are 2 different people?
