Benjamin Lee Chambers was born on 15 June 1897 at Hillside, McLennan Co., Texas, USA.[1] He appeared on the census of 14 June 1900 in the household of his parents, Benjamin Ellis Chambers and Leila Ada (Chanbers) Griffin, at McLennan Co., Texas.[2] He appeared on the census of 4 May 1910 in the household of his father at McLennan Co., Texas.[3] He appeared on the census of 16 Jan. 1920 in the household of his parents at Longview Road, Henderson, Rusk Co., Texas. [4] Benjamin served in the US Navy during World War I..[5]
He married Nannie Pearl Brewer, daughter of D. O. Brewer and Molly Daniels, on 3 May 1924 in or near, Knoxville, Knox Co., Tennessee.[1]
He was a laborer working on a public road when he and Nannie appeared on the census of 28 April 1930 at Knox County, Tennessee.[6] He was a laborer working for the WPA when he and Nannie Pearl Brewer appeared on the census of 22 April 1940 at Lee Road, Knox County, Tennessee.[7]
Benjamin lived in 1973 at Coalfield, Morgan County, Tennessee. He died on 17 April 1974[8] at age 76 probably in Tennessee and was buried at Solway Cemetery, Solway, Knox County, Tennessee. His memorial has a link to that of his wife and a photo of his headstone with the inscription: "S 2 US Navy World War I".[5]
