Ellis (“Alice”) Edgerton Ogilvie was born about 1770 at Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA. Ellis was the daughter of Hezekiah Edgerton and Mary (Hedgbone) Edgerton. She was the wife of John Ogilvie (1751-1856) and the mother of thirteen children. Ellis passed away on 16 Jul 1854 (aged 83–84) in Halifax, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was buried at Meagher's Grant Cemetery in Meaghers Grant, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada. ^[1]
