Charity (Hall) (Gallop) Burt was born about 1635 in Devon, England, the daughter of George Hall (1610–1669) and Mrs. Mary Hall [NOT likely Williams or Matthews] (1615–1669). [1] George Hall was an early proprietor of Taunton, probably arriving there in 1637.[2]
Charity married, first, John Gallop about 1652[3], based on the birth date of their only known child Esther on 21 July 1653.[4] Esther married Deacon Henry Hodges on 17 December 1674, in Taunton.[5]
John Gallop died by 1656, as Charity married, second, Richard Burt, Jr. (1628-1685), about 1656, in Taunton.[6][7] They had eight children:
Abel Burt (1657–1711)
Mary Burt (1661- )
Richard Burt III (1663- )
Joseph Burt (1666- )
Ebenezer Burt (1669–1724)
John Burt (1671- )
Ephraim Burt (1673–1704)
Abigail Burt (1676- )
Charity passed away at age 76 in 1711 and was buried in Neck O Land Cemetery in Taunton.[8][9]
Place: Neck of Land Graveyard, Taunton, MA[14][15]

It is my understanding that Charity Hall married John Gallup sometime before 1653. They had a daughter named Esther Gallup. Charity later married Richard Burt II.
Richard's son Abel married an Esther Gallup b. July 21, 1653, d. May 1, 1711.
My question then is -- are these two Esthers the same?!

Note:
In NEHGSS "Register, "John Gallop of Taunton, MA," by Almon D. Hodges, it is speculated that, after the death of John Gallup, his widow married Richard Burt of Taunton (also see notes on John Gallup in this genealogy). Given the birth dates of the children of Burt after Esther Gallup's birth ( 21 July 1653), it appears that Charity married Richard Burt before 15 May 1661, when Mary Burt was born.
