Biography

On May 2, 1872, in St Louis, Missouri, Bernard Brady married Margaret Burns. (See marriage record under images) The Roman Catholic Priest that performed the marriage ceremony was Father James A. Dunn [[1]], who was performing his priestly apprenticeship at St Malachy's.

St Malachy's (St Louis) was founded as an Irish parish at 7th and Clark in 1858. It later moved to 2904 Clark Avenue. Its grade school programs ran from 1861-1919, staffed at times by Dominican Sisters and Christian Brothers. The school reopened briefly in the 1940s. It was staffed by Jesuits from 1941-1959. The church was razed when it closed in 1959. A picture of the church can be found here: [[2]]

It appears that Bernard and his family are listed as "Barnet" and "Maggie" on the 1880 census. With them, living in St Louis, is their eldest son Philip, age 7, Ellen Burner [Burns?] age 17, and 43 year old Katie Kramer, from Germany. ^[1]

We think that Bernard and Margaret are buried in the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum, in Saint Louis, St. Louis City, Missouri, Plot: Sec 16, Lot 000F and that Find A Grave Memorial# 145702922 represents "our" Bernard Joseph Brady.
