He married Mary Smith on 5 December 1751 at the Falmouth Congregational Church, Falmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony by Esquire Jabez Athearn. Joseph resided in Falmouth and Mary in Tisbury prior to their marriage.[2][1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
Death
Joseph died on 13 Feb 1819. He is buried at the Falmouth Old Burying Ground of that place. His stone reads "In memory of...Dea Joseph Davis...who died...Feb 13 1819...aged 90 years
11 months 21 days... The graves of all his saints he bless'd... And softened ev'ry bed... Where should the dying members rest... But with the dying head[1]
