Jacob Loomis was born 19 June 1761 at Salem, New London County, Connecticut, died there 15 Oct 1837 son of John Loomis (1741–1811) and Rachel (Harris) Loomis, (1737–1827); married Selena Mathilda Holmes, daughter of Dr. Seth Wyman Holmes (1738-1821) and Sarah (Rogers) Holmes, buried at Loomis Burying Ground, Salem, New London County, Connecticut, USA.^[1]

He served in the American Revolution.
