Biography

Daniel was born to Elizabeth and Clement Messervy in 1679 near Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Daniel's father was an immigrant from the Channel Isle of Jersey and was one of the original settlers of the New Hampshire Colony. In Jersey, the family still spells the name as "Messervy" which is the same way that Clement spelled his name. The descendants of Clement Messervey in the US and Canada, however, usually spell the name as either Meserve or Meservey. Today, we find family trees with Daniel's surname spelled both Meserve and Meservey.

In 1743, Daniel was listed on a colonial tax list as residing in Rockingham, Strafford, New Hampshire.

On Dec 1, 1701, Daniel married Deborah Merrow (1677 – 1747). Their children include the following:
