Biography

Jan Van Buskirk was born on June 30, 1744 in Hackensack, New Jersey, and baptized in Hackensack on 5 August 1744 by a minister of the New York Lutheran Church. His parents were recorded as Laurens Janssen Van Boskerk and Dorothea.^[1][2]. This profile showed his parents as Laurens Van Buskirk and Jannetje Van Buskirk, but this identification of that mother is contradicted by the records cited, and neither of these people was realistically old enough to be the parent of a child born in 1744.

He married Catherine Le Beavois on May 02, 1775. ^[3]. Together they had 3 children:

2. Charles Van Buskirk
3. Jeremiah Van Buskirk

He died in 1814 in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.
