Samuel was the third of nine children born to Clark Cooper and Esther Taylor. He was born in 1767 and baptised 23 Jun 1767 (Entry # 14/12) in Barking St Mary, Suffolk, England. The family residence was in Barking.
Samuel married Mary Simpson on February 24, 1789 at Badley St Mary, Suffolk, England. Badley is a village and civil parish in Suffolk, England. It is located between Stowmarket and Needham Market.
Samuel and Mary had three children, who are: John, Mary and Samuel. There probably would have been a lot more children if Samuel had not died prematurely, on May 5, 1795 in Needham Market. He was most likely buried in the cemetery at Barking St Mary.
A comment I have found about the burials not being in Needham Market is:
"All the dead of Needham Market came to St Mary's Barking to be buried, conveyed the mile up the hill on a bier along the Causeway."
This is a journey you can still make today, albeit under your own steam. Local legend has it that the word 'causeway' is a corruption of 'corpseway'."
Find A Grave has a lot of Coopers's but not this Samuel.
