Although Michael's death date is often cited as about 1845 due to daughter Ellen's marriage record, his headstone fragment was found at Grand Calumet Island St. Anne's Church embankment and states date of death as 1837. Wife was Anne Shirley 1786-1869 from Leighinbridge, Carlow, Ireland. They came to Canada in 1817 from Kilkenny, Ireland on a military grant of land & in 1835 settled on Ile du Grand Calumet, Pontiac, Quebec on 6th line near 4 corners of Dunraven. Previously lived at Perth, Ont. and Nepean-Ottawa, Ontario.
