The following information is excerpted from findagrave.com. Its source is unknown:

John William King was born in Rappahounock County VA., and may have been a son of William Valentine Rufus King and Elizabeth Edwards.

John married Mary Ann Kennedy.

Migrated to Wake County North by 1790. John and Mary had the following known children: John King (1787-1854), Eli King (1786-1851) and Isiah King (1793-1854). John King (son) died in Calvert County, Maryland. Eli King (son) died in Bradley County, TN. Isiah King (son) died in Marshall County, Ky.

John William King was born in 1740 in Stafford, Virginia, the son of Rebeckah and John. He had two children with Mary Ann Kennedy. He died in 1802 in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee, at the age of 62, and was buried there.
