Biography

Andrew MAIN I was born 05 Aug 1723 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. [1] [2] His father was Thomas Main [3] and Annah Brown [4] [5]He was the second child of Annah (Brown) Main (1700-1766) & Thomas Main I (1700-1771).

Andrew married Fear Holmes [4] on Jan 5 1743/44 in Stonington, Connecticut. Fear was born Jul 8 1722 and was the daughter of Joshua and Mary (Richardson) Holmes [5].

Andrew and Fear (Holmes) Main had children, including the following: [6]

  1. Bethiah, b Apr 6 1745
  2. Fear, b Aug 13 1747
  3. Anne, b Nov 18 1748
  4. Andrew, b Jul 6 1749
  5. Ruth, b Sep 23 1750
  6. Rachel, b Jan 8 1753
  7. Molly, b Aug 6 1755

In the Revolutionary War, he served in Col Parson's Connecticut Provincial Sixth Regiment (1775), in the 3rd Company, enlisted May 8th, 1775, and discharged Dec 1775. [7]


Andrew Main died [8] 18 Apr 1802 in Willington, Tolland, Connecticut, United States.

He is buried in Village Hill Cemetery, Willington, Tolland County, Connecticut: Find A Grave: Memorial #27786326[9]
