Isaac Cottle, the child of Isaac Cottle and Rhoda Manchester, was probably born about 1777. At that time, his parents resided in either Tisbury, Dukes, Massachusetts Bay or somewhere in the District of Maine, possibly Hallowell, Lincoln.

Isaac's birthdate is estimated as follows: Isaac was the first named in his father's will, so probably the oldest. His parents married in 1776. They were known to reside in Tisbury at that time, and their earliest record in Maine occurs in about 1789. All of this information comes from Banks. ^[1] However, Find-A-Grave ^[2] gives his birth date as 1780, based on unknown evidence.

On 13 March 1803, he married Eunice Clerk, in Sidney, Kennebec, District of Maine. ^[3] However, the name "Isaac" was popular among the Cottles in that era and the possibility exists that some other Isaac married Eunice.

No children are known. However, a derivative source of cemetery records ^[4] lists Isaac as the "patriarch" of several persons buried in the cemetery. They are listed below with all information that is provided in the cemetery record:

Isaac died 25 April 1851 in Augusta, Kennebec, Maine. He is buried in the Cottles Cemetery, in Augusta. ^{[5] [2] [4]}
