The will of Isaac Cottle: To all People to whom these Presents shall come, the Honorable Daniel Conns(?) Esquire, Judge of the Probate of Wills, &c. in the County of Kennebec within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, sendeth Greeting.

Know ye, that on the Twenty Seven day of February, Anno Domini 1814, the Instrument hereunto annexed (purporting the last Will & Testament of Isaac Cottle late of Augusta in said County, Kennebec, deceased was presented for Probate by Rhoda Cottle the Executrix therein named; then present James Moore (?) L Daniel Caye (?) two of the __________, Witnesses thereto subscribed, who made Oath, that they saw the said Testat or sign, seal, and hear him declare the said Instrument to be his last Will and Testament, and that they ??? with John Hub's (?) and ______________ subscribed their Names together as Witnesses to the Execution thereof in the said Testator Presence; and that he was then (to the best of their Judgment) of sound and disposing Mind; Wherefore,

I do prove, approve, and allow of the said Instrument as the last Will and Testament of the before named Deceased, and do commit the Administration thereof in all Matters the same concerning, and of his Estate whereof he died seized and possessed in said County, unto Rhoda Cottle.

the before named Executrix, well and faithfully to execute the said Will, and to administer the Estate of the said Deceased according thereto; who accepted of the said Trust, and ?  ? t o return an accountings of the Deceased Estate and to render an Account (upon Oath) of her Proceedings, when thereunto lawfully required.

In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal of Office, the Day and Year above-written

Be it remembered that I Isaac Cottle of Augusta in the County of Kennebec and Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Husbandman being weak in body but of sound mind and ? do this twenty first day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and Fourteen make and publish this last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say for the first pace I give my beloved Wife all my Household goods also the Farm where on I now live together with all the buildings there on and all the Privileges & Apurtenances thereunto belonging so long as she shall remain my Widow.

Also I bequeathe to my son Isaac Cottle four dollars. Also I bequeathe to my son Ananias Cottle five dollars. Also I bequeathe to my son John Cottle five dollars. Also I bequeathe to my son Abner Cottle five dollars. Also I give to my sons Isaiah Cottle and Charles Cottle all my Real Estate to be equally divided between them at the marriage or decease of my said Widow. Also I bequeathe to my daughter Polly Whitney five dollars, Also I bequeathe to my daughter Eunice Whitney five dollars, Also I bequeathe to my daughter Rhoda Parks five dollars, Also I bequeathe to my daughter Rosanna Paines five dollars, Also I bequeathe to my daughter Jenny Bowman five dollars, Also I bequeathe to my daughter Sally Richardson five dollars, Also I bequeathe to my daughter Hannah Cottle so much household goods as shall be convenient for housekeeping or as shall be equal to my Daughters who are married. Also I bequeathe to my daughter Nancy Cottle so much household goods as shall be convenient for housekeeping or as shall be equal to my daughters who married. Also I bequeathe to my daughter Mahala Cottle so much household goods as shall be convenient for Housekeeping or as shall be equal to my daughters who are married. I also give to my said Wife Rhoda Cottle all my Estate Real & Personal not therein before bequeathed and devised where ever the ? same my before. She paying all the legales herein before bequeathed and all my ? and funeral charges. And lastly I do constitute and ordain my wife Rhoda Cottle sole Executrix of this my last Will & Testament. In Testamony where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this day and year above written.
