William Monroe Williams, son of William Thomas & Adeline (Poat) Williams, was born in Paducah, Kentucky September 15, 1875.[1]
William married first Euria Vaugn on May 18, 1898 in Pulaski County, Illinois[2]. William & Euria had a daughter Ruth Evangeline "Eva" Williams, born about 1889. When Eva was about 16 months old, Euria died in childbirth along with the twin boys she was carrying. Little Eva died three days later.
William married second Bertie Martin, daughter of John & Anne (Harvell) Martin on January 25, 1904. On May 11, 1905 Fonzy Ward Williams was born[3][4]. Bertie died about a year later of typhoid fever, and Fonzy drowned around the age of 12.
For his third wife, William married Carless Jane Tidwell January 9, 1907 in Bells (Crockett County, Tennessee). Together William & Carless had 12 children:
Raymond E. Tidwell, nephew, age 9, born in Missouri[8]
Floyd J. Stallings, age 24, born in Missouri
Julia E. Stallings , age 20, born in Missouri
Larma B. Stallings, age 3 0/12, born in Missouri
Lillian P. Stallings, age 11/12, born in Missouri
1930 US Census Braggadocio, Pemiscot County, Missouri[9]
Included with the Williams family are two 1 year old boys, Jack and Harry. Harry is Harry Alfred, born March 2, 1929. I don't know who "Jack" is, although there is a history of twins in the family. Does anyone know who this second boy is? AP
