Research Notes

Original reference to McClure DNA Project was a dead link. Located McClure DNA Project on familytreedna.com and replaced the dead link with new one.^[2] Note the James Andrew McClure on this DNA chart was born about 1660 (not 1570) in Raphoe, Ireland. His purported wife, Frances Duggan, is not named on that chart. (Strutton-11 15:51, 16 June 2022 (UTC))

Death place, Augusta County, Virginia, removed. Its use is about 100 years too early, Augusta formed from Orange County in 1738. (Strutton-11 15:51, 16 June 2022 (UTC))

No source has been found in any early Virginia records to show that James Andrew McClure, or his wife, Frances Duggan, was in Virginia in the early 1600s. I think it possible he may have been confused with James Andrew Arthur McClure (abt.1660-1738) who was born about 1660 in Raphoe, Ireland. (Strutton-11 15:51, 16 June 2022 (UTC))
