Biography

Joshua was a Friend (Quaker)

Joshua and his wife Mary are very clearly mentioned in the Leadbeater Historic Annals of Ballitore, as are his aunt who was a beloved schoolteacher, and other cousins. There was a constant stream of Haughtons thru the Ballitore school, including Joshua and his father Isaac.

Joshua married Mary O'Brien in Carlow on 3 March 1790. He then married Eleanor Wilson on 12 June 1808.

Joshua is father of Margaret Haughton Waring. In addition to Margaret two other daughters married into the Waring family, and another married to Wright family relatives of Waring.
