Biography

William was born before 1816 in Surry County, North Carolina. [1] He was the son of John Zachary and Sarah Roberts. He passed away before 1916 (estimate, life span less than 100 years).

Birth

Source for birth date needed.[2],

  1. DOB is inferred from DOB of younger brother Jonathon, who was born in 1816. "The following January [1832] the whole family, minus son William, packed up their belongings in a six-horse wagon and made the permanent move to Cashiers Valley." [3]
  2. "On November 14, 1846, Col. Zachary deeded parcels of land to his three youngest sons, Jonathan, Mordecai, and Woodford." [4]
William might also have been the eldest son. If so, he probably would have been born in 1802 or before. following the pattern of about 2 years between children. It would also make sense if he was the eldest son and named after John's father who also was named William.

Immigration

Immigrated to Canada from England.
