Biography
Charles Kellu, son of Samuel Kellu (sic) was baptized at Wenham Congregational Church, May 3, 1709.[1]
His known ancestors date back to the early 1500s. Before his marriage he lived in Rutland MA. Family tradition says that he subsequently lived in Brookfield MA, Charlestown NH and Hartland VT. In Charlestown, he and his family lived in a simple lean-to with the family of Sylvanus Hastings, outside of the stock area. He worked in construction.
Charles Kellam married Elizabeth Gouldsbury of Brookfield, November 16, 1743,[2] and had 6 children.
Charles and Elizabeth had the following known children born at Ware, Hampshire, Massachusetts:[3]
- Elizabeth, born December 14, 1740 [sic, possibly should be 1746?]
- Charles, born May 1, 1749
- Samuel, born June 7, 1750
- Susanna, born April 25, 1753
- Nathaniel, born April 8, 1755
- Phinehas, born March 29, 1757
- John, born June 6, 1759
Charles was born before 1709. He is the son of Samuel Killam and Deborah Dorn.
