Roger Blackwell is said to have been born about 1580 in England and to have died about 1645 in Northumberland County, Virginia. No sources have been located to confirm these dates and places.

A Roger Blackwell was transported to Virginia by Elizabeth Hawkins and her son. A patent claiming his headright was recorded on 9 May 1636.[1] No further information can be found for this Roger Blackwell.

It is highly unlikely Roger was the father of Joseph Blackwell. Stella Pickett Hardy in her Colonial Families of the Southern States of America[2] begins her section on the Virginia Blackwells with Joseph Blackwell as the immigrant with no mention of his supposed father, Roger.

There is no evidence this person ever existed. (Strutton-11 17:50, 20 June 2022 (UTC))
