Biography

Isaac Lipman was listed as Itske Lebczik on the 15 Jul 1909 passenger manifest for the steamship, "Russia" which arrived in Ellis Island, New York from Libau, Latvia. He later used the names Isadore Lipman and Irving Lipman as an adult, but was known to the family by the nickname, Ichie.

Notes

Marriage record lists mother's name as Anna Butler, however, it is likely that the maiden name of his stepmother (Butler) was inadvertently used. His full sibling, Anna Lipman also used their stepmother's name on her own marriage record.

Irving's social security application gives mother's name as Ellen Freedland.
