Biography

Martha "Patty" Packard was born in 1793 in North Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Robert Packard and Sally (Perkins) Packard.^[1] Martha is a fifth great grand daughter of Mayflower passenger James Chilton through her mother Sally.

Martha married Theron Ames (a descendant of Mayflower passengers Francis Cooke and Edward Doty) on 11 Dec 1816.^[2] They had five children:^[3]

1. Frances Ames, born 18 Apr 1818.
2. Martha Perkins Ames, born 26 May 1819.
3. Sibbil Ames, b. 22 Apr 1822.
4. Phebe Ames, born 5 Jan 1826.
5. Edwin Clark Ames, born 26 Apr 1828.
