Francis Frost is Notable.

Francis Frost is/was a significant Ontarian .

Born in Smiths Falls, Canada West (Ontario), he was the son of Ebenezer Frost and Caroline Harwood. He was educated in Smiths Falls, Coventry, Vermont and Potsdam, New York.

He manufactured farm implements in Smith Falls and was reeve of the town from 1876 to 1883 and its first mayor in 1883. He also served as warden for Lanark County.

In 1868, he married Maria E. Powell.

Frost was elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Liberal member representing the Ontario riding of Leeds North and Grenville in the 1896 federal election. He was defeated in the 1900 federal election. He was appointed to the Canadian Senate in 1903.^[1]

He died in Smiths Falls in 1916.^[2]
