Biography

Reece Lusk was an Appalachian.

Reece T. was born in 1835. He was the son of Absolom Lusk and Deliah Dilly Bailey. ^[1]

He married Mary Jane (Godfrey) Weekly (abt.1839-1922) in 1857. ^[2]

According to an article in the Plaindealer, Reece was killed in a farming accident in Oregon on 24 Sep 1876. The article also discussed his move to Missouri, Illinois, and finally Oregon where he died.^[3]

Research Notes

There is often a conflation between Reece T. Lusk (1826-1861) and Reece T. Lusk (1835-1876) on popular genealogy sites as well as the Findagrave listing which mixes family, service record, and headstone of the two men. As of 27 Apr 2024, there in no primary source for burial, but it is likely in Oregon where he and his family lived at the time of his death.
