Biography
Hardy Fennel Jones was born in 1813 in Charleston, South Carolina, United States.[1] He was the son of James Jones and Elizabeth Toles.
In about 1831 he married Matilda Parnetha Nicholson Vincennes, Knox, Indiana.
In the 1850 census Hardy (age 39), Farmer, was living with his wife Matilda and 7 children in Southwest, Montgomery, Illinois, United States.[2]
In the 1860 census Hardy (age 57), Farmer, was living with his wife Matilda and 6 children in Township 7 N Range 3 W (North two-thirds), Montgomery, Illinois.[3]
Matilda died on 7 Apr 1864 in Montgomery, Illinois, United States.[4]
Hardy then married his second wife, Elizabeth Cundiff, on 29 Sep 1864 in Montgomery, Illinois, United States.[5] They had no children together.
Hardy's final marriage was to Mary Raglin on 28 October 1869 in Montgomery county.[6]

Rebecca Jones (1870- )
Wilson Smith Jones (1870–1955)
Eugenia "Jennie" Jones (1873–1964)
Hardy passed away on 7 Oct 1894 in Montgomery County, Illinois, USA.[1]
Research Notes
Hardy's estate passed probate was filed on 10 October, 1894. While some believe he died on October 7, it seems unlikely his legal documents would have been ready for filing that quickly. The will was signed on October 26, 1893.[7]
