Birth Anne was born about 1837 at Whitegate, Galway, Ireland (this area is now located in County Clare). She is the daughter of Edmund Joyce and Catherine (Goonane) Joyce. [1]

Emigration From Liverpool to Victoria, Australia, 1855, on the ship 'Hotspur' . Aged 18 years. [1]

Marriage Ann married John Thomas on 16 January 1862 at Christ Church, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. [2][3]

Death Ann died on 5 December 1904 at Happy Valley, Victoria, Australia. [4][5]

Obituary From the Ballarat Star, 12 December 1904, page 6:

LINTON.
DEATH OF AN OLD COLONIST.
A very old resident of Happy Valley, Mrs Ann Thomas, relict of the late John Thomas, passed away on Monday last. The deceased was a colonist of 50 years, having arrived in the ship Hotspur, in 1854, and had resided in this district since 1861. She leaves a grown-up family of five sons and three daughters to mourn their loss. The funeral, which was largely attended, took place on Thursday afternoon, the place of interment being the Linton General Cemetery. The coffin-bearers were Messrs John Bolte, Wm Bolte, J. Crozier, J. Thomas, and J. H. Brough. The pall-bearers were Messrs J. Jones. J. Garvey, J. Murphy, J. Collins. A. C. Hall, and J. Gribble. The Rev. J. O. A. Clarke conducted the burial service, and the mortuary arrangements were satisfactorily carried out by Mr Jas. Nelson. [6]

Burial Ann was buried at Linton Cemetery, Linton, Victoria, Australia.[5]
