Biography

Effie-May Lathey was born on April 30, 1915 in the Town of Waterloo, Seneca County, New York, USA. She was the daughter of Norman James Lathey (1876-1955) and his wife, Kate (McCann) Lathey (1891-1977). Her father was born in the neighboring Town of Seneca, Ontario County, and was a carpenter in Waterloo for most of his adult life. ^[1]

In 1933, Miss Effie May Lathey of Waterloo Town, Seneca Co., New York married Bernard H. Snow. Originally they lived in Waterloo Town, Seneca County, NY; they moved in about 1935 to operate a dairy farm in the Town of Seneca, near Geneva, Ontario County, New York. The couple had 3 sons:

1. Norman Snow, b: 1932, Waterloo Town, Seneca Co., NY
2. William Snow, b: 1934, Waterloo Town, Seneca Co., NY
3. Donald Snow, b: 1936, Seneca Town, Ontario Co., NY

On the 1940 (incl. 1935) US Federal Census, Howard Snow was reported as living in the Town of Seneca, Bronx County [sic=Ontario County], New York, USA.^[2]

"Bernard Snow lived in Bronx [sic=Ontario] County, New York in 1940, which is also where he lived in 1935. He was the head of the household, 27 years old, and identified as white. Bernard was born in New York around 1913. In 1940, Bernard was married to Effie Snow, and they had three children named Norman, William, and Donald."

Bernard Harry Snow passed away on September 27, 1994, in Ontario County, New York. He was buried at the Little Church Cemetery, Stanley, Ontario County, New York, USA. Plot: Sec D, Lot 68, Grave 5.^[3] His wife, Effie May (Lathey) Snow survived his death. She passed away on July 21, 2003, also in Ontario Co., NY. She was buried next to her husband, in Lot 68, Grave 6 at the Little Church Cemetery, Stanley, Ontario County, NY, USA.^[4]
