Margaret Fish was a daughter of Margaret (Stark) Cleaveland (aft.1658-1705) and John Fish Jr (abt.1650-aft.1695) [1].
Margaret was baptized jointly with her brother David on 18 Apr 1695 in Stonington, Connecticut.
Note: Margaret (Stark) Fish, mother of Margaret and her brothers David and John Fish, married second, on July 25, 1699 at Canterbury, Connecticut, Sgt. Samuel Cleveland, who thus became their step-father.
Margaret Fish married Capt. Gideon Cobb (1691 - 1759) on 25 Sep 1717 in Canterbury, Connecticut [2]. Their children, as found in the online memorial site for Gideon Cobb:
Margaret (Fish) Cobb died 30 Nov 1775 at Canterbury, Connecticut. Her grave is in Carey Cemetery, Canterbury, Windham County, Connecticut, USA [3]. The inscription on her grave stone reads "In ye 82nd year of her age", thus providing a clue that her birth date may have been subsequent to 30 Nov 1693. This logic is not precise, however, as it was sometimes the practice to reference the age at death as the time duration after conception, not necessarily after birth.
The Fish genealogy published that Margaret and her brother David were twins, born Aug. 18, 1695, which is an error. They were both baptized on 18 April 1695 (at the Stonington church), which was the date that their mother joined the church. Their age at baptism is not evident.
