Biography

William Colclough was born around 1820 in Limerick, Ireland, the eldest son of Margaret Colclough and John Colclough.^[1][2]

He sold his home at Goresgrove around 1867, and had emigrated to Australia before 1876.^[3]

He was a grocer.^[4]

In 1873, a quarrel in the Colclough family occupied the attention of the Emerald Hill Police Court. First, William gained a verdict against his brother John for £564 for arrears of wages. The next week, John brought his brother to court for willful trespass, having after the verdict served William with a notice to leave John's home, where William resided.^[5]

William died on 24 July 1876 at 84 Clarendon Street, Emerald Hill. He was 56 or 57 years at his death.^[1][2] He appointed his sister Ellen executor of his Will.^[6][7][8]
