Biography

Elizabeth Fales was born in Norwich, Connecticut, on March 9, 1756, the daughter of Ebenezer Fales and Ruth Bingham.[1][2]

She married Jared Hawks, son of Joshua and Abigail (Hastings) Hawks, in Charlemont, Massachusetts, on September 16, 1773. She was 17, he was 21. They settled in Charlemont and had children there.[2][3]

Her husband, Jared, died on December 14,1828, aged 77.[3][4]

Elizabeth (Fales) Hawks died in Charlemont on January 1, 1830, at the age of 73. She is buried in the Village Cemetery in Charlemont.[2][3][5]

  6. James Hawks, born June 3, 1786; married, 1810, Mary "Polly" Ballard; died June 2, 1867.[16]
  7. Roswell Hawks, born April 8, 1788.[17]
  8. Erastus Hawks, born July 29, 1790.[18]
  9. Horace Hawks, born October 14, 1792; married, November 1, 1815, Rachel Smedley; died February 25, 1874.[19]
  10. Elizabeth Hawks, born August 30, 1794.[20]
  11. Harvey Hawks, born May 24, 1798; died October 7, 1802, aged 4.[21][22]
