BEGINNING on a rock, John Batey's corner and the southwest corner of the within described tract; thence North to a cedar stump, ash pointer, thence East to a pile of rocks, Jackson Edder's corner; thence North to walnut stump Tip Hudson's corner; thence East to center of private road; thence with middle of said road, South to Lanes corner; thence West to the beginning, containing 85 acres, more or less.

This being the same property conveyed to H. A. Lane deed appearing of record in Deed Book 61, page 100, of the Register’s Office, Rutherford County, Tennessee. The said H. A. Lane died intestate several years ago, survived by the undersigned, Thomas M. Lane, and two other sons as his only heirs at law. See also deed to Avent Lane of record in Deed Book 236, page 56, of said Register's Office.

Obituary

Services for Avent Lane, 74, of 221 N. Highland Ave., who died Monday at the Medical Center after an extended illness, will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday at Jennings & Ayers Chapel, with burial in Smith Cemetery. The Rev. Roy Anderson will officiate. He is survived by three sons, Howard, Avent and Scott Lane, all of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Mrs. Glen Paschal of Chattanooga; two Lane brothers, Thomas and Robert Lane, both of Murfreesboro; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Pallbearers will Gray Paschal, Andy, Bobby, Ray, Randy, Steve and Tommy Lane. His wife, the late Eunice Norris Lane, died Nov. 2, 1980. His parents were the late Howard Aisla and Annie Mai Bass Lane. He was a retired homebuilder.
