The early years

Elizabeth Roberts was born about 1856 in Illinois to Absalom Roberts and Amanda Russell^[1].

It is believed her siblings were:

Through the years

In 1860^[2] they were living in Derinda, Jo Davies, Illinois. In the home were Absalom 48, Amanda 42, George 21, Celinda 8, Alfred 7, Elizabeth 4, Charles 1. there also was a Sarah Lanhorn and John Herron who are believed to have been help, but not related.

In 1870^[3] in Jo Daviess, Illinois. Her father has a farm with a value of about $5,500 and personal estate of $1,500 and in the home are Abasalom 58, Mary 57, Alfred 17, Elizabeth 14 and Charles 12 Marilda is no longer showing so we assume she passed away prior to this.

Death

She died on the 15th of February, 1882 in Skidmore, Nodaway, Missouri^[6]

Died at Skidmore, Nodaway county, Mo. February 115, 1882, of heart disease, Elizabeth J. Holcomb, wife of Ira Holcomb, who formerly resided near Elizabeh, and daughter of Absalom Roberts, of Elizabeth. She was 26 years old at the time of her decease. Fiv eyears ago she united with the M.E. church, and up to her death continued to live the life of a consistent Christian. She leaves to mourn their irreparable loss, a father, husband, one child and one brother and isster.

Her fathers will would be signed the 37th of March, 1885^[5] and he would name the following heirs:

• daughter Celinda Curtis
• Grandson Clarence B Holcomb - son of daughter Elizabeth J Holcomb deceased

• Friend Amos Weird friend as executor
