Biography

Born sometime after 1530 Francis Dacre was the fourth son of William Lord Dacre of Gilsland ^[1] and his wife, Elizabeth Talbot.

His first wife was Dorothy Radcliffe, daughter of John Radcliffe of Derwentwater. ^[2][1][3] They were parents of two sons and five daughters. ^[1]

In June 1607 at St Saviour's, Southwark Francis married widow Avis or Alice Downham, daughter of Thomas Tyrell of Heron Hall at East Horndon in Essex. ^[1]

Francis was abroad from Sept 1589 until after the Queen's death. ^[1]

Francis died on the 19th of Feb 1633 at Chester-le-Street in County Durham. ^[1]
