Research notes
The estimated year of birth is based on the birth order specified in Memorial no. 526-531-345270, Ferguson to Ferguson et al (1799-09-27), wherein John was named the second son of Dr. James Ferguson and Jane Stephenson,[7] and a two-year interval between births. The estimated year of birth, as inferred from the age inscribed on the gravestone (i.e., 1764), is consistent with this analysis.~Kilpatrick-1128
