Timothy Crocker was born in Barnstable, Barnstable County, Province of Mass. Bay, on 03 Oct 1751, son of Benjamin Crocker Jr. and wife Bathsheba Hall.[1] After intentions were published in Barnstable on 20 Sep 1781,[2] Timothy Crocker of Barnstable married in Falmouth on 13 Dec 1781 Bethiah Hatch of Falmouth.[3]
In the 1790 census in Falmouth, Timothy Crocker, a male over age 16, is enumerated with three other males over 16, two males under 16, three females, and one other "free person".[4]
Timothy Crocker came from Barnstable to Wareham, where he built the house owned by A. D. Makepeace, and there lived during the remainder of his life. To Timothy and Bethia Crocker were born, according to Wareham records, the following children: Polly, born Dec. 22, 1784; Timothy, Dec. 20, 1786; Mercy, Oct. 17, 1788; Harvey, Feb. 7, 1791; Lucy, Feb. 27, 1793; Ebenezer, Oct. 29, 1797; and Sally, Oct. 12, 1799. On 16 Dec 1822, Ebenezer Crocker, was assigned as administrator of the estate of Timothy Crocker late of Wareham, cordwainer deceased. The estate was appraised, 26 Mar 1823, in the amount of $1429.39, and included a homestead, pew in the Wareham Meeting house, a silver watch, sundry leathers & hides & tools and 123 pairs of shoes used in his shoemaking.[6]
