Biography

Robert Reaney was born in Ireland.

Robert was born in Ireland in 1835. Five years later, Robert moved to Osgoode Township, Ontario, Canada with his family.

On Jan 20, 1855, Robert married Jane, the first child of Joseph and Jane (Sharrow) Douglas to be born in Canada.

They raised a family on a farm in Osgoode, Ontario.^[1][2][3][4]

Robert passed away December 21, 1909 at Metcalfe, Ontario and was buried in Metcalfe Union Cemetery^[5].

The following article was clipped from The Ottawa Citizen, 26 Jan 1910, Wed, Page 5:

On Tuesday morning, Dec. 21st 1909, death called away Mr. Robert Reaney at the age of 75 years, an old and respected resident of Metcalfe. The funeral took place on Thursday at 1 p.m. and a large cortege proceeded from the house to the Methodist church, Metcalfe, where the funral [Sic] service was conducted by Rev. Mr. Larmour. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, three sons and five daughters, also four sisters and two brothers.
