Biography
Samuel Avery, born 12 May 1774 at Groton, Connecticut, was the fifth child of William Avery and Mary Dolbeare.
He married 26 Jun 1796 at New London, Connecticut, Jerusha Arnold, daughter of John Arnold. They had 2 children, Samuel and Jerusha.
This family relocated to Kennebec County, Maine, where they all died before 1807.
According to one online source, Samuel wrote his will 23 Apr 1799, which was probated 26 Aug 1799 [1]. According to his grave memorial, which depicts the relevant cemetery record, Samuel Avery died in June 1799, age 26, and his remains became the first interment in Monmouth Center Cemetery Monmouth, Kennebec County, Maine, USA [2].
Note: This same cemetery record lists interments of their two very young children, having died 3---1799 (Samuel) and 2-19-1799, thus coinciding with the Avery genealogy account. Apparently his wife Jerusha died 27 Nov 1799, and was buried back in New London, Connecticut.[3].
