Abigail Avery was born 03 Mar 1767 @ Ledyard, Connecticut, the fourth child (daughter) of James Avery and Mary Comstock.

She married 14 Mar 1793 @ Groton, Connecticut, Stanton Sholes [b. 14 Mar 1772 @ Groton, CT, son of Abel & Lucy Sholes]. They had 4 children:

1. Mahala Sholes, b. 24 May 1794; died young
