Biography

Mary was born in 1909. She is the daughter of William Lynch and Margaret Kelly.

In 1910 at age 2, she lived on Hamilton Street, New Haven, Connecticut with her parents William (age 36) and Margaret (age 32).^[1]

In 1920 at age 11, she lived on Hamilton Street in New Haven, Connecticut, with her parents William J. (age 45, foreman for a hardware mfr.) and Margaret J. (age 42) and siblings William (age 8) and Mildred R. (age 6). All were born in Connecticut; the parents of both William J. Lynch Sr. and Margaret Lynch were born in Ireland and spoke English.^[2]

In 1930 at age 21, she lived at 31 Summer Street, New Haven, Connecticut, with her parents William (age 55) and Margaret (age 53) and siblings William J. (age 18) and Mildred R. (age 16). ^[3]

She married Clifford B. Chapman, son of Perry G. Chapman and Catherine Desmond, in 1932. They married in Manhattan, New York City, New York; Clifford was born in Middletown, Connecticut.^[4]

In 1940 at age 31, she lived at 382 Shelton Ave, New Haven, Connecticut with her husband (Clifford Chapman, age 32) and son David B. (age 2), and her father William J. (age 66) and sister Mildred R. (age 26).^[5]
