Private Joseph Gilbert served with Lexington Alarm - April 1775, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.
Joseph Gilbert is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A045147.
Joseph Gilbert was born about 1735 in Hartford, Connecticut. He married Elizabeth Breck in Great Barrington, Massachusetts on 7 May 1763. He died 1806 in Pompey, New York.[1]
Joseph Gilbert, private under Captain Seth Smith from the town of New Hartford, Connecticut, answered the Lexington Alarm.[2]
Joseph's probate record was dated 17 Sep 1808. [3][4] Sons:

This profile 10759 and 10685 appears to be the same, I am looking for what I am sure is my 4 G joseph Hiram Gilbert,s family and trying to match up likely candidates (Joseph Born 1735) for his Father with a age range of 20 plus years. He was supposedly born15 Jan 1755 Died 17 Dec 1804, thinking Mecklenburg Va could be death not birth place. Capt Thomas Gilbert V 1 Mar 1723-19 Feb 1788 Brookfield Mass another candidate that had already been submitted as Joseph Hiram,s Father by others then withdrawn until it could be more clarified , both of these tree,s goes to Thomas 1 and his Father Richard. Pretty much taking shots in the dark now his beginnings have eluded many for years that know their way around. Any info would be appreciated .
