Constant Southworth was born in Duxbury, Massachusetts on 20 August 1764. He was the son of Thomas Southworth (1722-1805) and Anna (Hatch) Southworth (1734-1778).[1][2]

Constant enlisted in 1781 as a private for 3 years in Captain Josiah Alden's company, Colonel Ebenezer Sprout's regiment.[3]
Constant married Hannah Prentice Pettingill about 1782.
Hannah and Constant had a son named Constant Southworth, and a daughter named Joslyn.
On 27 October 1785 Constant married Lucy Ford in Marshfield, Massachusetts.[4] Constant moved with father to Readfield, Maine. After his fathers death, he moved to Corinna, Maine, where he changed his name to Southard.
Constant and Lucy had at least three children in Maine.

  3. Lucy, b. 1800

Constant applied for a pension on 9 April 1818 in Corinna, Penobscot, Maine, United States.[5]

Constant died at the age of 62 on 19 November 1826 in Corinna, Penobscot County, Maine, USA. He is buried in the Southworth Yard Cemetery Corinna, Penobscot County, Maine.[6]
