CYPERT, WILLIAM HOLLIS: U.S. Company D, 1st Arkansas Infantry Batallion (Union) Sergeant. Enlisted 1 July 1862 at Jacksonport, Jackson, Arkansas, as a Sergeant. Mustered into active service on 20 July 1862 at Helena, Arkansas. Mustered out of service 31 December 1862 at Benton Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri. Company K, 63rd Regiment, Missouri Enrolled Militia. Served as 2nd Lieutenant. Born 2 February 1834 in Wayne Co., Tennessee. Age listed as 15 on 1850 Wayne Co., Tennessee Census. Married Leatha Linn on February 1855 in Wayne Co., Tennessee. Age listed as 25 on 1860 Izard Co., Arkansas Census. Age listed as 35 on 1870 Wayne Co., Tennessee Census. Age listed as 45 on 1880 Izard Co., Arkansas Census. Filed U.S. Pension Application (#884,178) 2 August 1890 from Arkansas. Age listed as 65 on 1900 Lampasas Co., Texas Census. Died 4 February 1906 in Texas. Buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Nolanville, Bell, Texas. Nephew of Jesse N. Cypert (b.1839) (SRC), and Thomas P. Cypert. 1st cousin of John T. Cypert and William P. Cypert (SRC).
