Henry Holt was the son of Henry Joshua Holt and Mary Wills. His obit follows which is transcribed from the Nashville Tennessean Newspaper, June 12, 1901, p.2: Mr. Henry Holt, died last night at his home on Eden's Creek. (Should read Eatons Creek). The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at the residence and the remains will be buried at the family burying ground. (End of Obit). Henry Holt was married to Mary Ann Perry on February 14, 1875 in Cheatham County, TN. Their children were: Mattie Elizabeth, Bertie, Willie, Charles, John Henry, Maggie, Alonzo, Sallie and Maude Holt. He is interred in the Holt Family Burial Grounds, off Eatons Creek Road on McCool Rd., Nashville, TN. This area was known as Holt's Hollow during the time that the family lived there. Henry died of Tabes Mesenterica, an old-time medical term which is a condition of Tuberculosis.
Henry was born in 1842 to Henry Holt and Mary Wills. He was a Confederate soldier during the U.S. Civil War.[1] He married Mary Ann Perry in 1875.[2] He passed away in 1901, and is buried in the Holt Family Cemetery in Whites Creek, Davidson County, Tennessee.[3]
