Benjamin served in the American Revolution. He was a private in Colonel R. J. Meigs' regiment in Connecticut on 26 April 1777.^[1][2]

Benjamin passed away at age 70 on 3 April 1825 in Nelson, Portage County, Ohio.^[3] He is buried in Prentiss Cemetery in Nelson, Portage County, Ohio.^[4]
