Lieutenant Jonathan Freeman served with 13th Regiment, New Hampshire Militia during the American Revolution.

Jonathan Freeman is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A042083.

Jonathan Freeman was born in 1745[1] He was the son of Edmund Freeman and Martha Otis. From March 1778 to December 1787, he was town clerk of Hanover, New Hampshire and justice of the peace from 1789 to 1797[2]. He was a member of the State house of representatives 1787-1789, served in the State senate 1789-1794, and was a delegate to the Constitutional convention of 1791. He served as Representative from New Hampshire in the United States House of Representatives March 4, 1797 until March 3, 1801[3].

On February 2, 1775, he married Sarah Huntington[4] Eleven children were born during their marriage. Two died in infancy. His nephew, Nathaniel Freeman, was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts's 5th district during March 4, 1795 until March 3, 1799. Jonathan Freeman passed away in 1808.[5]
