Biography

Jane Ross-Lewin was born about 1781 in Fort Fergus, County Clare. She was the daughter of John Ross-Lewin and Eleanor Stacpoole.[1]

Jane married 75 year old Thomas Barnard on 30 August 1803 in St Mary's Cathedral, Limerick.[1]

She passed away about 1804, at the age of 22, from chronic consumption.[2]

Research Notes

Burke of 1912 records that she married secondly Colonel Hay but it is also recorded that she died in 1804 of consumption.

place of marriage unknown but possibly Clonmel, Tipperary where son Philip Hay was born Jun 1807 (Limerick Gazette Fri 12 Jun 1807).
